history of muslim scientist part 1

SERIES TWO (POST ONE)

We, Indian Muslims, are passing through a critical time. We are going through oppressions, mental trauma and shock. Things are unfolding before us which we had never thought but Allah is the best planner. If he has allowed the Anti-Muslim forces to kill us, he must have a reason. He is the one who says be it and it happens. We must be thankful to Allah that he chose us, our generation, to see these changes and fight for revival of Islam.

Resurrection is a long process. It doesn't happen in a day or two. Sometimes, it takes a century, sometimes a month or year. Our system was buried by the Westerners a century ago but it is the high time that we must ponder the reasons of our defeat. One such reason was our Ignorance to Science, some accuse Al Ghazali for this ignorance but it is not true. These were the Mongols who had destroyed our libraries, observatories and laboratories. Second reason was political rivalries in the Caliphate and weakened powers of Caliph.

Since the consolidation of Islamic State, we had been teaching science to Europe. When Muslims had Astronomical Observatories, studying science was banned in Europe and at that time, Muslim Scientists were enlisting New Discoveries for the Mankind in Medical, Biology, Astronomy, Mathematics, Natural Science, Tourism, Geography. In many fields, our scientists became the founding father.

Left by us, the lead of Science was taken by the Europeans. After having lost wars for centuries, they worked hard on scientific developments and kicked off the Renaissance. Just like the Renaissance of Europeans, Muslim World is also thirsting a renaissance. No matter you have better ethics, social organisation, political arrangements, World is always ruled by the "Most Powerful". We ruled Earth because we had most modern weaponry, the Gun Powders. They are ruling because they have "Nuclear Power".

In Series One of my posts, I have been writing about the foundation of Our State, the Ghaznavids, and it's expansion towards west and east. The Second Series, I am dedicating to the Muslim Scientists from the Caliphate of Rashidoon to present day.

Let's see how much West has "plagiarized" from us, without mentioning Islam in reference. I will be writing about the Muslim Scientists, their discoveries and theories in my upcoming posts. Be in touch.

History of islamic empire in South Asia part 2

SERIES ONE (POST 2)

"Pre and Post Abbasid Revolution- Making of Rebel Forces"

In my Previous Posts, I have discussed that we are looking at the history of Muslim India from Turkic/Ottoman's Historiography and I have already mentioned that we can't understand history of Indian Muslims without having studied the history and our relationships with Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Parts of Kazakhstan.

This is the Caliphate of Abbasid who have came to power after overthrowing Caliphate of Umayyads, through the Abassid Revolution. Abbasid Revolution is mostly funded and supported by Non-Arabs, specially Persians. Although the coup was funded and supported by the Persians and other Ajamis, the Abassids were Arabs and claimed that they were the descendants of Paighambar's Uncle, Abbas Ibn E Abdul Muttalib. Umayyads will take refuge in Spain (Iberian Peninsula) where with the passage of time, they will decalre their own Caliphate, known as Caliphate of Cordoba.

Let me take you to the foundation of Islamic State and it's Policy of Expansion. After Hijrat, Hazrat E Paighambar founded a city state in Madina which came to be know as First State of Madina, with its written constitution, the "First Ever Written Legal Document on Earth" which acknowledged Equality, Fraternity, Justice and Universalism as the guiding principles of the state.

Through the various treaties and battles, State of Madina grew into a bigger state and unified the entire Arabian Peninsula, in lifetime of Paighambar. After the death of Paighambar, State of Madina was succeeded by the Caliphs and the Islamic State came to be known as Caliphate.

Caliphate of Rashidoon, under Military Command of Khalid Bin Waleed and many others, annexed Persian Empire, Eastern Byzantine Empire, Northern Africa (Egypt, Libya and Tunisia). Caliphate of Umayyads, although grabbed the power illegitimately, annexed Transoxiana (Mawra E Nahar), The Maghreb (North Western Africa), Sindh (Province of Pakistan) and Iberian Peninsula (Spain).

Abassids overthrew The Umayyad through a Coup which is known as Abassids Revolution. As I pointed out here that Coup was funded and supported by the Persians and other Non-Arabs, but after assuming power Abassids remained loyal for Arab Hegemony. This will engulf a sense of betrayal for Persians which paves way for the preparation of Rebel Forces. Rebel Forces will not overthrow the newly appointed Caliphs but they will only negotiate with them to hold the power and will kick off the journey of Persianisation of Caliphate.

In my next post, I will write how the Rebel Forces, the Persians, will negotiate with the Caliphs on the terms they overthrew the Umayyads. This negotiation will change the course of history of Muslims and pave ways for the Ghaznavid Rebels, the Turkic Muslims of Mawra E Nahar (Turkistan) and Khorasan, and that will eventually enter in Hindus'tan.

History of islamic empire in south asia part 1

SERIES ONE (POST 1)

In my previous post, I discussed about the differences in Hindu and Turkic Historiography. I consider Hindu Historiography (Be it Communal or Liberal Hindu) manipulative and Anti-Muslims.

I express sincere gratitude to the "Muslim Intellectual Forum" for having provided me a platform to write short notes on history of Muslim India from Turkic perspective. Looking at the historical facts from Turkic historiography will solve many of the questions we face everyday.

How did Caste System emerge among Indian Muslims? Where we came from? Did Muslims convert from Hindus? If Conversion was common, what was the pattern of Conversion? How did we adjust with two communities, of contrasting nature to live together for 1000 years? What was the role of Sufis in making of India? How did Anti-Islamic Dowry, Caste, Racism and Gender Biasness became a norm among Indian Muslims? Are we Mool Nivasi of India? Where we came from? Where did our forefathers live? What compelled our forefathers to migrate in India? Why my forefathers came as Horse Archers to invade on "Peace Loving" Hindus? Are our forefathers "Invaders" or "Liberators"?

There are thousand questions in your mind. We will discuss these questions now step by step and one by one. But to answer your questions, we have to visit the past, to see what happened with our forefathers, their aims and objectives.

This is the beginning of a Mega Series. We will start from Ghazni, the foundation of Muslim India, which will expand into a Giant Empire and will shelter almost all Non-Arab Muslim World at a time when Muslims were fighting for Arab-Ajam and Shia-Sunni.

Story is long, therefore, I have decided to divide the story into parts. Below is the picture of Mahmood, a custodian and heir of the city called Ghazna, who will lay foundation of "Ghaznavids". These Gahznavids will change the course of Muslim History.

In next post, we will discuss the Background of the Ghaznavids.

Date a girl who reads

Date a girl who reads. Date a girl who spends her money on books instead of clothes, who has problems with closet space because she has too many books. Date a girl who has a list of books she wants to read, who has had a library card since she was twelve.

Find a girl who reads. You’ll know that she does because she will always have an unread book in her bag. She’s the one lovingly looking over the shelves in the bookstore, the one who quietly cries out when she has found the book she wants. You see that weird chick sniffing the pages of an old book in a secondhand book shop? That’s the reader. They can never resist smelling the pages, especially when they are yellow and worn.

She’s the girl reading while waiting in that coffee shop down the street. If you take a peek at her mug, the non-dairy creamer is floating on top because she’s kind of engrossed already. Lost in a world of the author’s making. Sit down. She might give you a glare, as most girls who read do not like to be interrupted. Ask her if she likes the book.

Buy her another cup of coffee.

Let her know what you really think of Murakami. See if she got through the first chapter of Fellowship. Understand that if she says she understood James Joyce’s Ulysses she’s just saying that to sound intelligent. Ask her if she loves Alice or she would like to be Alice.

It’s easy to date a girl who reads. Give her books for her birthday, for Christmas, for anniversaries. Give her the gift of words, in poetry and in song. Give her Neruda, Pound, Sexton, Cummings. Let her know that you understand that words are love. Understand that she knows the difference between books and reality but by god, she’s going to try to make her life a little like her favorite book. It will never be your fault if she does.

She has to give it a shot somehow.

Lie to her. If she understands syntax, she will understand your need to lie. Behind words are other things: motivation, value, nuance, dialogue. It will not be the end of the world.

Fail her. Because a girl who reads knows that failure always leads up to the climax. Because girls who read understand that all things must come to end, but that you can always write a sequel. That you can begin again and again and still be the hero. That life is meant to have a villain or two.

Why be frightened of everything that you are not? Girls who read understand that people, like characters, develop. Except in the Twilight series.

If you find a girl who reads, keep her close. When you find her up at 2 AM clutching a book to her chest and weeping, make her a cup of tea and hold her. You may lose her for a couple of hours but she will always come back to you. She’ll talk as if the characters in the book are real, because for a while, they always are.

You will propose on a hot air balloon. Or during a rock concert. Or very casually next time she’s sick. Over Skype.

You will smile so hard you will wonder why your heart hasn’t burst and bled out all over your chest yet. You will write the story of your lives, have kids with strange names and even stranger tastes. She will introduce your children to the Cat in the Hat and Aslan, maybe in the same day. You will walk the winters of your old age together and she will recite Keats under her breath while you shake the snow off your boots.

Date a girl who reads because you deserve it. You deserve a girl who can give you the most colorful life imaginable. If you can only give her monotony, and stale hours and half-baked proposals, then you’re better off alone. If you want the world and the worlds beyond it, date a girl who reads.

Or better yet, date a girl who writes.

Sorry! An apology from Muslims (or those perceived to be Muslims) to humanity)

We are sorry for everything.
That we have caused humanity to suffer from.
Sorry for algebra and the letter X.
Sorry for all the words we throw at you;
Amber, candy, chemistry, cotton, giraffe, hazard,
Jar, jasmine, jumper, lemon, lime, lilac,
Oranges, sofa, scarlet, spinach,
Talisman, tangerine, tariff, traffic, tulips,
Mattress (yes, mattress) and the massage you enjoy on it;
We are sorry for all of these.

Sorry that we replaced alcohol with coffee for Enlightenment philosophers.
Speaking of hot drinks,
We are sorry for the cappuccino the Turks brought over.
Sorry for the black Arabian race horses,
For the clock,
Maths,
Parachutes.

Abdul in the US is sorry for what so and so did;
He does not know him but he is sorry anyway.
Sorry that we accompanied Columbus on his journey to the States.
And sorry for the Arab man with him
Who was the first to touch the shore and shout ‘Honolulu’
And named the place after him.
Sorry for the architecture in Spain and the Al Hambra palace there.
We apologise for churches in Seville
With their stars of David at the top that we built with our hands.
We say sorry for every number you use in your daily life from the 0 to the trillion.
Even Adnan the Yezidi (mistaken for Muslim)
Is sorry for the actions of Abu whatever who beheads people in Syria.
Sorry for the mercury chloride that heals wounds,
Please give us some –
Because the guilt of initiating all of the above
Gives us a wound as big as this earth.
Sorry for the guitar that was played by Moriscos in Spain
To ease their pain when they were kicked out of their homes.
Sorry for the hookah as you suck on its lips
And gaze into the moon hearing the Arabian Nay.
Sorry for cryptanalysis and the ability to analyse the information systems,
To think what is the heart of the heart of the heart and bring it to the world.
Sorry for painting Grenada white to evade social hierarchy.
Sorry for the stories in The Arabian Nights.

Every time we see a star, we remember to be sorry for Astronomy,
We are sorry that Mo Farah claimed asylum here
And went to become the British champion of the world.
Sorry for non-representational art,
Pattern and surface decoration.
We are sorry for all the food we brought over:
From tuna to chicken tikka masala,
Hummus,
Falafel,
Apricot,
Doner kebab
Right up to the shawarma roll.
And don’t forget the couscous.

If we forget to apologise for something, never mind,
We are sorry for it without even knowing it.
Most of all we are sorry for Rumi’s love poems,
And we desperately echo one of them to you:

Oh Beloved,
Take me.
Liberate my soul.
Fill me with your love and
Release me from the two worlds.
If I set my heart on anything but you
Let that fire burn me from inside.

Oh Beloved,
Take away what I want.
Take away what I do.
Take away what I need.
Take away everything
That takes me away from you.

Please forgive us.
We are sorry and cannot be sorry enough today.

An Apologetic Other ❤️

Dear brothers,

We are already living in a dystopia. This is an absolute end of ideologies. Our fate was decided on the very day when our parents named us with arabic, persian or urdu names.By this jingoistic narrative of the Fascist we have been reduced to just an identity. Now it's totally up to us whether we embrace it or stay at the state of denial before it's too late.

We are already in a psychological war.A war which effects us all whether we want it or not.A war that demands us to take a side, not between hindus and muslims it's not that easy. It's a choice between servitude and dignity. It's a choice between fairness and injustice. It's a choice between right and wrong. We cannot deal with it by falling to their prey and being apologetic for being what we are.

And by being apologetic I mean :

When
We embrace
the idea of surrender
over the expense of your dignity,
We are being apologetic.

When
We feel shame
On the deeds of
Some bigoted retards
Masquerading as the protectors
Of your religion,
We are being apologetic.

When
We unnecessarily abuse
some neighbouring countries
Just with the intention
To please our friend,
We are being apologetic.

When
We compare
Savarkar and Jinnah
And held them as
Two aspects of the same coin,
We are being apologetic.

When
We accept
Their sinister narrative
About Aurangazeb and Alauddin
Being cruel and monstorous
Despite the facts about them
Proving them as economic reformers
Of this country,
We are being apologetic.

When
We accept that
The Pogroms in Delhi
And in Muzaffarnagar and Gujarat
Were just clashes of communities,
We are being apologetic.

When
We normalise
Lynchings and Lootings
Burning of the households
Massacres and shootings,
We are being apologetic.

When
We accept
The baseless arrests of
Mr.Saifi,Imam and Khan
Who are fighting
For the justice,
We are being apologetic.

When
We deny
The need of the resistence
In this fight of our existence,
We are being apologetic.
