Rehabilitation of 25 houses done by our volunteers with the help of SAHAYATA TRUST and IMRC …

To IMRC,

12th September 2021

The wrath of the Kankai and Mahananda  river is back with it's miseries for yet another year. The people who dwell on the bank of these river are in great despair. The people of these areas loose ‘Acres of land' every year. The main victims of these annuals floods are mainly the daily-wagers such as labourers,vegetable-sellers, landless-farmers, fisherman etc. Their monthly Income hardly sums upto ₹10000 which approximately $136 according to present exchange rates and due to these dire economic conditions they are unable to build their houses by themselves.
Me along with few of our volunteers took a ground-survey of these areas and felt disappointed, after seeing the conditions of these areas we even talked with some of them and their stories’ were heart-wrenching.

The lady in the saree crying is Sameema. She is a widow and her only source of income is the pension she gets from a government funded scheme from Bihar Government.

Another women in the pink saree is Rukshana she is a landless labourer and the man with the stubble beard is Raheem who lost his stock of jute-fibre worth Rs 50000 according to today's market rate.

There are many similar cases
After receiving the funds from SAHYATA TRUST and IMRC we decided to build their houses once again . The pictures of some of the houses built by us are below .The sigh of relief and happiness which we got from their expressions after building their houses were heart warming .They thanked everyone who helped them in restoring their houses. They gave many duas and blessing to everyone  Thanks to Almighty Allah( s.w.t )for choosing me and my team for this act of kindness and thanks to SAHAYATA TRUST and IMRC for providing the required funds for this program.
Since, the house we built for them had provided them with shelter they are still in need of basic necessities like employment ,Education even food in some cases. I would like to raise the issue of employment and education which lacks in the society of these areas.

As mentioned in Holy Qu'ran :-

Thanking You,
Akram Noor
